Shannon Coon

Associate Pastor of Adult Ministry

Shannon Coon is the Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries and is the newest member of the pastoral staff, having moved to St. Andrew’s in July 2021. She grew up outside of Chicago and worked in the corporate world for years in New York City and in Chicago. During that time she sensed a call to ordained ministry and decided to pursue a seminary education. In 2011 she graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary and received her first call to Bidwell Presbyterian Church in Chico, CA. She served Bidwell for 10 years as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Discipleship. Shannon has served on presbytery committees, various director boards, and has volunteered for numerous organizations. She is married to Chris, who is also a pastor, and they enjoy hiking, kayaking, and road trips together. She has a son, Rylan, who studies at Butte College in Northern California. Shannon has a passion for helping Christians live as apprentices to Jesus and she appreciates the challenges of applying the teachings of Christ to our everyday lives. She loves to teach and to lead small groups through a process of spiritual formation. She is currently studying to receive her DMin degree in Spiritual Direction from Fuller Seminary.
