Begin with Scripture –

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place.

When he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray…”

Opening Prayer

Opening Prayer

Almighty God, as students all around our community are resuming their schooling, I ask you to keep them safe, bless their studies and empower their teachers. Holy Spirit, I confess to you that, in matters of faith, I need to redo school. Too often I am blinded by my adult sophistication and I fail to trust you for forgiving me, healing me, changing me – so (re)enroll me in the school of faith! And too often I forget to offer my heart to you – so re-enroll me in Christ’s school of prayer, where I lay all my cares (and the cares of others) at the foot of the cross. Let my studies resume today, with the prayers I now offer… (continue praying, as the Spirit leads you)

please pray for:

Those who are ill:

-Members of our church community who are ill (but do not wish their names to be printed on a document)

May the Spirit bless you give you peace in believing that your Heavenly Father – who knows what you need even before you ask – loves you more than you love yourself.  In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Those in grief:

- The family  of Karen Cowie

The church/world:
