Director of Children's Ministries

My name is Mel Ortega, the kids call me Marsh-mel-o. I am the Director of Children’s Ministries & I have the honor of creating the wonder that kids carry within themselves as they discover more of who Jesus is from birth to sixth grade. I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (EC-6) with specialization in English as a Second Language & Special Education from Texas Christian University. The S.A.L.I program was how I discovered St. Andrews & is what the Lord used to reveal my love for Children’s Ministry. Texas is my hometown, I love me some nicknames, & I may use the word y’all a little too often.
