CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION
1. Jesus was invited to plenty of dinners. If you invited him, where would he sit? Who else would you invite? Would you be nervous about what he would say (even a little)?
2. In this time period, dinners were more accessible to uninvted guests should they want to enter. The woman in our passage wasn't invited to the dinner, despite Simon and his friends knowing who she was. Who were they more annoyed with, the woman or Jesus? Why?
3. That night, we see four characteristics of Jesus and the four questions they pose:
a. Jesus speaks... How carefully do I listen?
b. Jesus sees... How often do I see others?
c. Jesus welcomes... How willing am I to receive his welcome?
d. Jesus forgives... Do I recognize and acknowledge my need for his forgiveness?
Which of these four are easiest for you? Which are more difficult?
