St. Andrew's Serve Day

Join us on Saturday, September 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as we serve our community and our ministry partners in Newport Beach and beyond. Don’t sit on the sidelines! Roll up your sleeves, bring along willing hands, a smile and a warm heart as you meet some new people and reveal God’s goodness through Serve Day! There are projects for all generations and skill levels available.

Listed below are the current projects supported through Missions at St. Andrew’s. Click on the button at the end of the opportunity list to sign up.

Serve Day Opportunities

On Campus

Community Appreciation – Help us show appreciation to the local police and fire departments that serve our communities so well. Bake and box delicious cookies in Dierenfield Hall and then deliver them to local fire houses and police stations.
Family Friendly: Yes
Volunteer Capacity: 20

Serve Day Photography – Help us show how St. Andrew's is fulfilling its mission to Follow Jesus Christ to lead lives that reveal God's goodness! Capture photos and video at Serve Day project sites, which will be compiled and shared during services on September 23 and 24.
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
Volunteer Capacity: 15

Prayer Support – Spend the first portion of the morning covering volunteers, Serve Day sites, our church and our community in prayer. Then, visit Serve Day sites to pray directly with ministry partners, volunteers and members of the community.
Family Friendly: Yes
Volunteer Capacity: 20

Volunteer Lunch Prep – All those volunteers get hungry out there! Bless and sustain our 350+ servants by preparing and distributing healthy and delicious boxed lunches.
Family Friendly: Yes, for children 12 and older, unless parental supervision is provided.
Volunteer Capacity: 10

Grand Canyon Serve Day - Get an insider's look into our Grand Canyon mission from some of our team members as you strengthen our testimony there. Pack school supplies and write notes of encouragement to children from the Supai community, put together care packages for Supai kids that attend Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, or assemble Sunday School lessons for our church partner in Supai.

Royal Family Kids Camp - Make a difference in the life of a foster youth, by helping to clean and organize a special bin of toys and games for each cabin at camp. Participants will sort through puzzles, books and games and making sure that the bins are clean, ready and filled with joy for next year's campers.

Volunteeer Capacity: 15


Newport Beach/Costa Mesa

MIKA – Help breathe new life into one of Mika's common use areas by helping out with general cleaning, organization and a new coat of paint. The revitalized space will be used for youth groups, after school programs, leadership meetings and other programs throughout the coming year.
Family Friendly: Yes, 10 and older with parental supervision
Volunteer Capacity: 10

Heritage House South – Help bring life to the women and children living at Heritage House South. Participants will clean and organize various spaces on campus, help landscape and beautify the children's

Whittier Family Book Picnic – BBQ picnic and book reading with Whittier Elementary School families.

Amazing Grace Ministries - TBD


Orange County 

Royal Family Kids' Camp - TBD

Grandma's House of Hope – Help out with general landscaping.

Heritage House South – TBD

NorthEast of the Well - TBD

KidWorks – Read, lead crafts, paint faces, share music or serve lunch with kids and community members.

Orange County Rescue Mission – Sort donations, prepare food and handle other tasks as required.

Pacific Youth Correctional Ministries – Refurbish benches at the Youth Guidance Center Amphitheater.

Teen Challenge – Spruce up the Teen Challenge Center by painting, landscaping and doing general cleaning.
