CrossTraining Small group leader
Description: The Small Group Leader serves as a shepherd to the children in a small group by building relationships and encouraging the children to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Time Commitment: 1 service per weekend on a regular basis
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Meets with other team members before the children arrive, for VIP time (Vision, Information and Prayer)
- Shepherds children by building relationships and leading a small group through the curriculum
Weekday Responsibilities:
- Connects with children and families during the week (phone calls and email)
- Reads the curriculum and prepares to lead the children after the presentation of the Bible story in Large Group time
Substitute small group leader
Description: The Substitute Leader serves as a shepherd to the children in a small groupwhen a Small Group Leader is absent.
Time Commitment: 1 service hour, as needed
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Meets with other team members before the children arrive, for VIP time (Vision, Information and Prayer)
- Lead a small group of children through the curriculum
- Remain with children until parents arrive for pick-up (Preschool—2nd Grade)
Weekday Responsibilities:
crosstraining drama team
Description: The Drama Team presents the Bible lesson creatively through drama and storytelling.
Time Commitment: All services on the weekend scheduled, plus one midweek rehearsal
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Meets with other team members before the children arrive, for VIP time(Vision, Information and Prayer)
- See above Description and Commitment
Weekday Responsibilities:
- Read and memorize the script and be prepared to present the drama without notes
- Attend one midweek rehearsal
Nursery volunteer
Description: Nursery Volunteers help in the Nursery or 2 year old classroom—holding, comforting and playing with infants and toddlers. Volunteers in this ministry must be at least Jr. High age.
Time Commitment: 1 hour per weekend, 1-2 weekends per month
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Meets with other team members before the children arrive, for VIP time (Vision, Information and Prayer)
- Assist care givers with infants and toddlers
Weekday Responsibilities:
- Pray for children, families and ministries at St. Andrew’s
preschool trainingwheels storyteller
Description: Share selected Bible stories with preschool children in TrainingWheels Large Group time, in fun, creative ways.
Time Commitment: 1 weekend per month
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Meets with other team members before the children arrive, for VIP time (Vision, Information and Prayer)
- See above Description and Commitment
Weekday Responsibilities:
- Read and become familiar enough with Bible lesson to be comfortable “telling” the story, rather than reading it.
children's welcome center greeter
Description: The Plaza Greeter is Children & Family Ministries first “hand-shake” to our children and their parents as they arrive at church and prepare to begin worship together.
Time Commitment: 30 minutes (15 minutes before the service begins and 15 minutes into the service) 1-2 services each month
Weekend Responsibilities:
- Greet the children and families warmly and answer questions they may have
- Pass along any information Children & Family Ministries may have to offer
