Hey St. Andrew’s Family,
The Haven College Group just got back from three beautiful days in Big Bear on a winter retreat together. We were able to rent a cabin and 30 students and leaders got to spend some time getting away from the busyness of life down below and focus on Christ, community, and fellowship together. While on the trip, we were encouraged by devotional times in the beautiful mountain scape as well as evening sessions together with worship, reading, discussion, and prayer. We read excerpts from Nouwen and Bonhoeffer, and focused on the themes of newness of identity as the Beloved of God, stepping out in discipleship, and being saved to a community. Not to mention three days with these students also means a lot of fun and R & R for all as well! This was an awesome way to start off our year focusing on the binding love of Christ and I am excited to see where He leads our students this upcoming year. I pray that as students continue to grab ahold of their identity in Christ, they will step out boldly, not looking back to their old selves. Here’s to 2012 and all the work Christ will continue to do in drawing us to himself!
Cheers and Grace!
